Summer is the season for festivals of all kinds – the weather entices everyone out of their homes, and the sunshine is enough reason to celebrate. tripwolf is on top of the summer events and festivals occurring around the world.
July and August are busy months for film festival lovers. Last week was the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. As of right now we are in the middle of the Zanzibar International Film Festival in Tanzania, which ends on July 20th this year. Also this week, we are smack in the middle of the London Australian Film Festival, which runs until the end of the month in London, of course. This festival showcases any type of innovative film, from obscure to what you can see in theatres.
Another interesting festival occurring as we speak is the Ischia Global Film and Music Fest on the island of Ischia off of the Neapolitan Coast in Italy. This festival is filled with both independent films, as well as popular acts, and ends this weekend, on the 20th.
Next week in New York City is the The Independent Features Film Festival. This festival falls only on the weekend of the 25th-27th, and focuses on the most popular independent films.
If you’re one to plan ahead, get ready for the Toronto Film Festival – one of the most well-known and prestigious film festivals in the world. The festival is, of course, in Toronto, Canada, from September 4-13th
