Primavera Sound Festival (June) 

The San Miguel Primavera Sound Festival takes place in the Parc del Fòrum every year, about 6km north-east from the center of Barcelona. Primavera is one of Spain’s largest festivals and is visited annually by over 100,000 music fans. This year Franz Ferdinand, Justice, The Cure and The xx were one of the Headliners. In the area around the Forum Barcelona you find a selection of apartments in Sant Marti.

Sónar Festival (June) 

Probably Europe’s most famous music festival, which is held annually in Barcelona for three days in June (Thursday-Sunday). The Sónar attracts international music stars and massive amount of fans of electronic music to the city – it is advisable to book a room early!

Del Grec Festival (July) 

The Grec Festival offers its visitors not only music, but also dance, theater and circus. The performances take place in the Open-Air Theatre (Teatre Grec) at Mount Montjuïc and other smaller theaters and public places. The festival aims to celebrate primarily local, Catalan artists to help them promote their work.

La Mercè Festival (End of September)

Around the Roman Catholic holiday on September 24th the city is transformed into a festival site. At many places in the Old Town, musicians from near and far play concerts to honor the patron Saint Mercè, most of them are free.

Jazzfestival (October – December)

For over 44 years the Barcelona Jazz Festival has taken place in late autumn. Big names such as Wayne Shorter, Jimmy Cobb, Marcus Miller and Kings of Convenience are part of the line-up. Tickets are purchased for the individual concerts; there is no “Festival Pass” for all events.
